While looking back on all that Godllywood has achieved in 2015, the group is ready to tackle everything that lies ahead in the coming year.
Although many women acknowledged learning valuable life lessons and growing significantly through the group’s meetings, personal mentoring and coaching, there is always more to be done in 2016.
Meetings were held in Johannesburg, Bloemfontein, Cape Town, Durban, Port Elizabeth, Pretoria and the Vaal Triangle with live-streaming provided to groups in other centres. The December meeting began with a retrospective presentation on 2015 which was themed: The year of virtues. At each monthly meeting a topic was explored helping women to embrace these qualities. Members learned the importance of deciding who they want to become and made choices to realise their goals.
Meetings focused on developing positive relationships with others, learning the importance of placing value on themselves and taking action for personal transformation. In the monthly meetings women learned the importance of looking after themselves and discovered inexpensive ways of bringing creativity into their homes. The group was encouraged to be transparent and ask for help to overcome any difficulties they were
experiencing. An important lesson was not to limit God’s work in their lives.
I have reminded our members of this. “The work of Godllywood was not about improving external appearances, but changing who we were inside. We challenge ourselves to go further every day and to do our best all the time.” Godllywood will focus on the theme of “a year of excellence”for 2016.
A self-help group was launched in January for members of the Church and visitors irrespective of age. These meetings will take place every second Saturday of the month. The next meeting will be on Saturday 13 February at 10am at the Universal Church in Plein Street.
