In 1956 twenty thousand women marched peacefully to the Union Buildings in Pretoria to protest against the injustices of the apartheid laws. They delivered a petition and silently stood their ground for 30 minutes.
This year, in paying tribute to these legendary women, the Universal Church of the Kingdom of God will be organising a powerful Women’s day march with the theme “Determination”. The vision for this silent march is to strive for a better society and for the rights of women and children in the rainbow nation.
The march will start at the Maponya Mall, in Soweto at 10am, on Monday, 10th of August.
Women in Action (WiA) and Godllywood in South Africa will also be supporting this day. Do come and join us! Be part of the Determination march!
