Alta Bence, CHOC’s Psychosocial Support Services Manager facilitated a Volunteer Induction with newly recruited volunteers to assist with Morning Tea at the Hospital? and at the CHOC House. The induction took place on 25 October 2016 at the Head Office of HPCA in Pinelands. A total of fourteen Volunteers attended the Induction out of which eleven represented the Universal Church’s Women in Action Team.

Volunteer’s play an important role in the services rendered to children diagnosed with cancer and life threatening blood disorders. In the Western Cape Regions CHOC through the dedication of trained Volunteers provides parents/ caregivers at both Tygerberg Hospital and Red Cross Children’s Hospital with a cup of tea/ coffee or a muffing during the Outpatients Clinics and facilitate reading and interactive play in the Paediatric Oncology Wards.
