WiA Singers
Posted in About on November 8, 2009 by adminYes, they are all pastors’ wives! But I believe it is interesting to share with you the idea behind the group and above all, our aim with that. When WiA came about, we have set two trademarks: we dress traditional and the ladies sing traditional and popular songs. We are just rewinding the good things of the past as a path to the future; when we sing Miriam Makheba, Brenda Fassie among other divas we are sending an underlined message of empowerment. These women made a name of their own and honored South Africa in times of struggle. They overcame despite all odds, so much more you can do in a season of liberation, freedom, equality. Their songs are appealing to all ages because they symbolize more than just a beat, they recall a cry out for freedom. The same cry out must be in your heart… you must be free to conquer, to go ahead and to impact your surroundings. You can do that if you allow God to show you the way. Our aim: to reach out those who are already part of our UCKG family but also those who are out there, in need of a helping hand. This is WiA all about!
