About
There is beauty in the work of our hands
The virtuous woman, described in Proverbs 31:19, clearly had the talent of working with her hands to benefit her household.

As women of God, we all have talents of our own and WiA members have again proved this to be true. Because of their dedication and work, we have been able to raise funds, campaign after campaign, to help numerous associations:
• Ikhaya Lezingelosi Day Care Centre, Johannesburg
• Good Samaritan Childrens Home, Limpopo
• CANSA, Johannesburg
• Teddy Bear Clinic, Johannesburg
• Rape Crisis Unit, Cape Town
• WAMACA, Durban • WAMACA, Pretoria
• Let’s talk about Cancer, Johannesburg
• Hillbrow/Berea Home of Hope, Johannesburg
• WAMACA, Johannesburg From time to time, various WiA members have been inspired to craft a pin, bijoux (jewellery), key holders and most recently the “Fragrance of Freedom” bracelet.
Only through the vital assistance of a team has it been possible to produce these trinkets in sufficient quantities to raise funds for charity. We exchange the work of our hands, our offering, for contributions that will generate income for these well-known organisations.
WiA members feel honoured to be able to contribute in such manner. Much effort over many weeks, including working throughout night vigils, simply add value to the causes we support. As WiA founder, I wish to convey my sincere thanks to each and every one of our members who has worked so diligently to assist the needy, proving once again they are truly virtuous women.

WiA Singers
Yes, they are all pastors’ wives! But I believe it is interesting to share with you the idea behind the group and above all, our aim with that. When WiA came about, we have set two trademarks: we dress traditional and the ladies sing traditional and popular songs. We are just rewinding the good things of the past as a path to the future; when we sing Miriam Makheba, Brenda Fassie among other divas we are sending an underlined message of empowerment. These women made a name of their own and honored South Africa in times of struggle. They overcame despite all odds, so much more you can do in a season of liberation, freedom, equality. Their songs are appealing to all ages because they symbolize more than just a beat, they recall a cry out for freedom. The same cry out must be in your heart… you must be free to conquer, to go ahead and to impact your surroundings. You can do that if you allow God to show you the way. Our aim: to reach out those who are already part of our UCKG family but also those who are out there, in need of a helping hand. This is WiA all about!

Who we are…
We have been inquired by a few on who we are and it will be a wonderful opportunity to share with you all that we are pastors’ wives from the UCKG South Africa willing to reach out to the several communities where our husbands have been working at. Some may feel that we aim to bring more people to the church, but I assure you this is not our primary target. We respect the diversity of religious and beliefs.
What we want indeed is to make a difference in the small space we are situated so if we can transfer skills and empower women to start a small business or to do part time job while furthering their studies, we will. If we can assist, through the work of our hands, and raise donations to Day Care Centers and Orphanages who are diligently looking after small ones left alone in our society, we will. If we can extend solidarity and an effective word to those who had suffered physical, sexual or emotional abuse, we will.
This is our policy, this is our target and for this reason we are Women in Action. Surely we cannot change the world but we can give back a little bit to our communities and we count on your support!
We are using our talents, of which some times we did not even know we had, and you will have a full pack: singers, dancers, motivation and action.
Support our events, cherish for us and help us out to carry on our mission.
If you ask me how the Women In Action Project was born….. I would not know! I remember we were talking about doing something in support of our Day Care Center and the idea of the Flea Market was fl ourishing, growing until the day we had it. And right there and then, we understood we could not stop. We deeply believe that Women in Action brings result so why should we take action just once whilst there are opportunities to be a helping hand for many. This is the background story of this beautiful project…. So simple but we have committed ourselves to do it wholeheartedly. Recently our
Women in Action
Project participated in the Soldiers’ Meeting in Park Station sharing a little bit of our achievements and our future plans and also praying for all who attended that blessed service.
We have engaged in two projects now – the empowerment of 10 women from Diepsloot community and to put our efforts and talents together to help out an orphanage from Limpopo. Not forgetting that we will be together in a great Women’s meeting in Soweto in August. How you can get involved, participate and help? You will hear about that very soon… and I know you will be enthusiastic about it. For now, I want to encourage you to experience what each one of us – pastors’ wives – have been experiencing through this project:
• You can do things you do not believe you are able to
• You have got hidden talents,
• You can make an impact wherever you live or work
• Take action about whatever plan, dream, or situation you
are bound to
When women take action, results are certain.
